Falling Action: Consequences of the climax unfold, leading to resolution.
Resolution: How the protagonist's journey concludes and the story's final note.

Faiza will illustrate these plot elements using classic literary examples like Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, Jane Eyre, and more, to help you grasp their practical application.

Week 2 (3rd September, Sunday at 2 PM GMT): Character-Driven vs. Plot-Driven Stories

During the second week, Faiza will explore the dynamic between character-driven and plot-driven narratives. Analyse the examples from the previous week to identify which stories lean heavily on their characters, which are plot-centric, and which strike a balance between the two. Understanding this distinction will help you shape your story more effectively.

Additionally, Faiza will introduce the seven basic plot archetypes, including Overcoming the Monster, Rags to Riches, The Quest, Voyage and Return, Comedy, Tragedy, and Rebirth. These archetypes have stood the test of time and can serve as a great source of inspiration for your own plots.

Week 3 and Week 4 (10th and 17th September, Sunday at 2 PM GMT): Interactive Plot Workshopping and Conclusion

In the final two weeks, it's your turn to shine! Share your work with Faiza, and together, you'll workshop your stories. Identify the areas where you might be stuck and collaboratively brainstorm solutions. Whether it's the exposition, the catalyst, or the resolution, Faiza has got you covered!
